Islamic Sunday School Curriculum & Guidelines
Class Schedule (2 Hours Total)
Time: Every Sunday, 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM
| Time | Subject | Description |
| 12:00 PM – 12:45 PM | Qur’an / Qa’idah | Focus on Qur’an recitation, tajweed, and proper pronunciation. Qa’idah lessons for beginners to build strong foundational skills. |
| 12:45 PM – 1:00 PM | Snack Break | Light snack time. Students are encouraged to bring healthy snacks. |
| 1:00 PM – 1:15 PM | Islamic Studies (An-Naseehah Book) | Lessons from An-Naseehah book covering Islamic manners, beliefs, and practical teachings. |
| 1:15 PM – 1:30 PM | Tasheel Dua Book | Memorization and understanding of daily duas with meanings and applications in daily life. |
| 1:30 PM – 1:45 PM | Last Ten Surahs with Translation | Recitation, memorization, and understanding of the last ten Surahs of the Qur’an. |
| 1:45 PM – 1:55 PM | Preparation for Zuhr Prayer | Students prepare for salah, perform wudu, and line up for prayer. |
| 2:00 PM | Zuhr Prayer | Congregational Zuhr prayer to conclude the class. |
Assessment & Progress
Quarterly Tests & Exams:
To review and assess students’ progress in Qur’an, Duas, and Islamic Studies.
🏆 First place students will receive a small prize.
Monthly Report Cards:
Teachers will provide monthly progress reports highlighting:
– Strengths and achievements
– Areas for improvement
– Attendance and behavior
Parents will be asked to review and sign the reports to stay involved in their child’s learning journey.
Annual Graduation Ceremony:
🎓 A celebration to recognize all students’ efforts and achievements.
– Certificates for all students
– Special prize for top-performing student
School Rules & Expectations
- Punctuality: Students must arrive by 12:00 PM sharp every Sunday.
- Dress Code: All students must wear proper attire that meets Islamic guidelines (modest and respectful).
- Electronics Policy: No phones, tablets, or electronic devices allowed during class time.
- Parent Involvement: Parents are encouraged to review and sign monthly reports and assist children with homework and memorization.
- Respect and Conduct: Students must show respect to teachers, classmates, and the masjid at all times.
Goals of the Program
- Develop an understanding of Islamic beliefs and what it truly means to be a Muslim.
- Gain a basic understanding and translation of the last ten surahs and commonly recited daily duas.
- Learn how to perform practical wudhu and salah (prayer) with proper steps and etiquettes.
- Develop love for the Qur’an and Islamic knowledge.
- Strengthen Iman and good character.
- Build consistent habits of learning and practicing Islam.
